Characters:

Kenneth Aguiluz:
11/17/09: "I fell asleep thinking about the kiss that might have been. What did a kiss feel like, anyway? Somehow I knew it wouldn't be like the one I got from Mom and Dad at bedtime."
She wants the kiss so bad she just thinks about it and how it would it bed. She has so many feelings for Bryce, she'll even fantasy about him. She is kinda mature and knows a little about kissing and all of that stuff. (p.15)
11/19/09: "I told him about his eyes and his hair and the way his cheeks blush, but I don't think I explained it very well because when I was done Dad shook his head and told me in a soft, heavy words that I needed to start looking at the whole landscape."
She was just talking about Bryce and just adoring him, and her dad helped her out with her little situation, because Bryce is immature and he doesn't catch hints with girls. So he just gets her out of the awkwardness. (p.33)
12/1/09: "Finally I broke free and did the only manly thing available thing when you're seven years old. I dived behind my mother."(page 3) I had to laugh at this part because it was so funny. It's just the way they wrote it that was funny. But yeah I would have done what Bryce did and hide behind my mother. If I were Julie I would have never done the things she did. I mean you don't force a guy into holding your hand. But yeah that its the only manly thing a seven year old can do.
(Kelly's Work Just Revising) - Well, certainly he is only seven years old so I would've done the same exact thing. Julie for her age is avery mature girl, she already has a like for boys and it's natural, but as you can see at their age it isn't "normal". (You can tell because Bryce isn't into girls yet)
12/3/09:
The first day i met Bryce Loski, i flipped. Honestly, one look at him and i became a lunatic. It's his eyes. Sometimes in his eyes. They're blue, and framed in the blackness of his lashes, they're dazzling. Absolutely break taking." (page 11): I can relate to Julie when says this. When I first me a guy, the first thing I look at is their eyes. People say that the eyes are a passage way into the soul and if the eyes are beautiful they have a beautiful soul. Also the way the author wrote this is written. It has a lot of deatil. I can almost picture it in my mind when I read it.
(Kelly's Work Just Revising) - Well. basically she's just expressing her feelings about him and how much she loves the way he looks and how his looks make her like him. As you can see the way the author is writing you can tell that she is really into him, she has a lot of feeings for him, even how young she is. In a way it seems real cute. :)

CHARACTERS
Bryce Loski
- he moved into the move into a house right across a girl named Juile Baker. He doesn't like her and he is a very shy boy and thinks of her as annoying. She comes around a lot and he doesn't like it.
Julie - she is in LOVE with Bryce but Bryce isn't really that into Julie. The problem is that Julie doesn't see that. She thinks that Bryce likes her back when all he really wants is for her to leave him alone. She's always coming over, bothering him and trying to talk to him and (hold his hand) and many other things little girls do when they guys their age. Then she's talking about how much she likes him and adores him and how much she thinks she's interested in him.
Conflict: Julie likes Bryce and he doesn't like her back and he's still a little shy and is a little boy. She doesn't know how to take a hint and still keeps coming around and she won't give up for "the love of her life."
Setting: In a neighborhood that's real quiet and friendly.

Kelly Medina ~
Assignment 1:
Characters: Bryce Loski - He lives right across from Julie Baker. He is a little immature and not very smart.
Julie Baker - Julie is smart and mature. She is in LOVE with Bryce and does not see that he does not feel the same way. She acts like any girl her age would act when they like a guy at first. And later on she still does but she tames herself a little more.
Conflict: It's a basic story of girl likes boy. Girl likes boy, boy doesn't like girl and girl can't figure that out. But later on, Boy likes girl and girl doesn't like boy anymore.
Setting: The setting of this book is a friendly neighborhood.

They're blue, and framed in the blackness of his lashes, they're dazzling. Absolutely break taking." (page 11)I can relate to Julie when shes says this. When I first me a guy, the first thing I look at is their eyes. People say that the eyes are a passage way into the soul and if the eyes are beautiful they have a beautiful soul. Also the way the author wrote this is beautifuly writen. It has a lot of deatil. I can almost picture it in my mind when I read it.
11/30/09: "I fell asleep thinking about the kiss that might have been. What did a kiss feel like, anyway? Somehow I knew it wouldn't be like the one I got from Mom and Dad at bedtime." (page 15) Julie longed for Bryce to kiss her so much that she thought and about day and night. Since she never got her first kiss before it's normal for her to think about how it would feel and things like that. Yes she is mature and many people usual people think mature people don't think about that stuff. But Julie is a human bean so it's normal for her to do so.
"I told him about his eyes and his hair and the way his cheeks blush, but I don't think I explained it very well because when I was done Dad shook his head and told me in a soft, heavy words that I needed to start looking at the whole landscape." (page 33) Julie is talking about her crush on Bryce to her dad. Her dad helps her understand why Bryce can't take a hint and that there's more to him that physical attraction shes feeling.
12/3/09: "But somehow on the downswing my hand wound up tangling into hers" (page 3) Bryce's reactions to this is very funny because he called her hand the "muddy money's hand". Whats happening is that Bryce's dad sent Bryce into the house and Julie wanted to play with him before he had to help work in the house. While walking up the path way up to the front door Bryce somehow got his hand tangled into Julie's.
"and the next thing I know he's holding my hand, looking right into my eyes" (page 14) I found this part funny because Bryce's thoughts about this situation were totally different from what Julie thought. She thinks Bryce was trying to hold her hand but really it was a mistake. A big mistake for Bryce.
12/8/09: "When I was done Dad shook his head and told me on soft, heavy words, that i needed to start looking at the whole landscape." Really what Julie's dad is saying is that she needs to look beyond his looks and his eyes and start looking at the really picture. Meaning she needs to see Bryce for who he really is.
12/10/09: "Proper lighting is everything." (Page 34) What Julie's dad is saying is that if you can't fall in love with someone is the dark. Cause then you don't really see who they really are
12/15/09: "After they cut down the sycamore l, it seemed like everything else feel apart, too. Champ died. And then i found out about the eggs" At this pint everything is falling apart. Her favorite tree, where she goes to relax and be herself, was cut down and her beloved dog, Champ, died and she just found out that the guy she likes has been throwing away the free eggs she has been giving him. Yes i know it doesn't seem like a big deal but it is since she lost over $200 by giving these eggs to his family.
12/17/09: "I stumbled home, embarrassed and confused, my heart completely cracked open." Right now Julie is going home heart broken because Bryce just insulted her and she found out he has been throwing away perfectly good eggs for over a two years now. And because of that Julie lost almost $200. He also told her that her house looks like a mess and it kind of is but still it wasn't his place to say anything about his house.
1/5/10: "It didn't take long for me to realize that I'd traded in my old problems with Juli Baker for a whole new set of problems with Julie Baker." Bryce is now figuring out that he was a totally jerk. He insulted Julie and now she's not her old self. Shes not talking to him and/or looking at him.
1/7/10
: "My problem was, I never got the chance. I came trekking down from the bus stop to find my grandfather doing my good deed." When Bryce got home he saw Julie working on her yard and his guilt got to him. He decided to go help her but her grandpa got to her before he did. When he came out he saw him helping her. That is why Bryce got upset.
